The Wisdom of Will Smith

Why We Do What We Do

So yesterday was definately a ground breaking and earth shaking day for alot of our members.  We had some monstrous PR's set, and one really blew me away. Faye at USA yesterday had a PR of 100# coming into yesterday.  She doubted herself being able to reach 115# let alone anything else above that.  With the support of everyone that was there, her husband Bill and Scotty B. just to name a few, she maxed out at 180#, almost doubling her previous PR.  I see it everyday the hidden potential that everyone has, and the amazing things that everyone can accomplish every single day, especially in amazing environments such as at the gyms, and with such breath taking support and encouragement from other members.  Honestly congratulations to everyone yesterday on some awesome lifts.  It really inspires me, and makes what we do as trainers worth it.Image

What a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood!

So there was a ton of excitement this morning over some new pr's in deadlifting, and also with some of our first deadlift max's.  Amber tried to quit at 125lbs, and ended up maxing out at 155! Awesome job!  We also see once again that the anecdote is true... The couple that WOD's together, stays together... Congratulatuions Amber and Dan!ImageImage

Mmmm Muffins!

Recipe:
1/2 C organic coconut flour
1/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. cream of tarter
1/4 C walnut oil or coconut oil
1/4 C agave nectar
6 eggs
1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. sea salt (optional)
1 C fresh or frozen blueberries
Blend together oil, eggs, agave, and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda, cream of tarter and salt, and mix together well, until there are no lumps. Fold in blueberries. Spay muffin tins and/or muffin tin liners with spray oil (to prevent sticking). Fill muffins tins about 3/4 full.
Bake in a 400 degree oven for 17-19 minutes. This easily made 12 muffins.Image

Early Birds

ImageSo even at the crack of dawn on saturday we have dedicated crossfitters that brave the morning chill to arrive and work on clean and jerks.  Jen, one of our representatives to the CrossFit Games Affiliate Competition, was there bright and early with Dan Blum.  No joke, I think both are already training for next year, just by the look of the intensity that both gave during this workout.
